Tennis
Clifton Meadows offers the best tennis program in the city, and we are enhancing the program each year. We offer tennis clinics multiple days each week, for all ages and skill levels. No sign up needed for tennis clinics, show up with a racket, ready to play. We will continue our very successful junior clinics and junior traveling team. We have 2 ladies traveling teams and offer 9 weeks of ladies' team practices on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings. We will offer men’s team practices on Wednesday evenings for 4 weeks in June, followed by in-house Men's doubles league on Wednesday nights in July and August. We plan to have a competitive men's traveling team with some home and away matches against another club.
Clifton Meadows has 6 beautiful hard courts, 4 pickleball courts, lights on 4 upper courts, top notch hitting wall, divider curtains on all courts. We’ve been busy for the last several years upgrading our tennis facilities!
2021: Repaved our 2 lower courts with fresh blacktop and resurfaced with fresh paint, added pickleball lines.
2022: Resurfaced the 4 upper courts, repaired the tennis lights, renovated the hitting wall with new wood and fresh paint. We also added the men’s in-house doubles league.
2023: We added a women’s in-house league to the schedule.
2024: We installed a new divider net on the lower courts, so we now have dividers for all 6 courts! Added pickleball social league.
2025: We introduced our new tennis director, John Kolenich. We purchased a ball machine to rent to members. We did crack repairs on the lower courts, added 2 more pickleball courts. Men’s team had our first away match against another club.
2026: We are in the doing crack repairs and resurfacing on the 4 upper courts and buying new windscreens.
John Kolenich is returning as our head tennis pro, along with his brother Tom Kolenich. They are available for private lessons. They also offer racket stringing and grip replacement.

The Pro will assist members in determining their skill level so that they can find appropriate partners at their own level.
Intermediate Morning Clinics
Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-11am starting 6/1/26, ending 8/5/26.
Juniors Clinics
Mondays and Wednesdays starting 6/1/26, ending 7/8/26.
Ages 11 & up 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Ladies’ Team
Wednesdays 5:30 pm-7 pm starting 6/3/26, ending 7/29/26.
Thursdays 10:30 am-12 pm, starting 6/4/26, ending 7/30/26.
Matches occur on Friday mornings between 9-11am, dates TBD. Matches will be at Clifton Meadows and at different clubs.
The fee is $25 per player and can be paid here.
Men’s Team Practices
Wednesdays in June from 7-8:30pm starting 6/3/26, ending 6/24/26.
The first hour will be instructional and the last half hour will be open play.
Men’s In-house Doubles League
We plan to run our 5th year of the Men’s in-house doubles league 2026. We will begin on Wednesday nights at 7pm starting on July 1st. Format is random draw for court assignments the first night, then new pairings each week based on scores from the previous week. Season length will be between 6 to 8 weeks, culminating with a position round to declare a champion. Please reach out to join the league as a regular player or substitute. All are welcome.
Private Lessons
Our head tennis club pro, John Kolenich and his brother Tom Kolenich are also available for private lessons on Clifton Meadows courts for players of all ages. They can also offers pickleball lessons. Rates start at $80 per hour.

The rate for private lessons is:
$80 per hour for one or two players. (two players would pay $40 each)
$90 per hour for groups of 3 players. (three players would pay $30 each)
$100 per hour for groups of 4 players. (four players would pay $25 each)
Junior Team
Practices on Mondays 12:30-1:30 pm and Thursdays 12-1 pm starting 5/29/25, ending 7/3/25.
Matches on Wednesdays at 1pm beginning in June, ending early July. Match schedule TBD.
Junior tennis team is open to boys and girls. Matches occur at Clifton Meadows and away at other clubs. Players should have the ability to serve and keep score; otherwise have your child start with the junior clinics. Players will often carpool to matches, and at least one adult from the team must attend each match to supervise.

Club Matches
Open invite tennis gatherings often occur on Friday and Sunday afternoons in the Summer and Fall. Times vary depending on weather and participation. This is casual and open to all members and all skill levels. Get on our tennis email list to find playing opportunities or arrange your own tennis gatherings.

Ball Machine Rental
The ball machine is available to adult members when the club is open. An adult must be present when the machine is being used. Rental is $10 per hour or $5 per half hour.
Tennis Key
Tennis keys can be purchased by members. Keys provide access to all 6 courts during non-operating hours for 1 year. The locks will be changed on Fathers Day, you can pick up your key from a manager anytime after 6/21/26 and the key will work for one year until Fathers Day 2027. Keys cost $50 which can be paid here.
